HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT
ENGAGEMENT RING
In most cases, the proposal is of course meant to be a surprise.
That’s why you should find out the right ring size as discreetly as possible beforehand. Ideally, bring us one of their rings so we can determine the size needed. A little tip: the engagement ring is almost always worn on the left hand. This is important to know, as ring sizes usually differ between the two hands.
You know your better half best, so trust your gut when choosing the ring. Our jewelers will advise you with expertise and an eye for detail.
The engagement ring arrives with a certificate of authenticity and purity for the ring and its diamonds. It is nestled in a beautiful little ring box that is softly illuminated when opened, so the diamonds truly shine.

Choosing the diamond (or diamonds) is key to the perfect engagement ring.
We carry both natural and lab-grown diamonds that compete in sparkle. Find out more about our diamonds and what makes them special here.

ENGAGEMENT RINGS IN DRESDEN – FOR THE QUESTION OF ALL QUESTIONS
There is that one moment you never rehearse. A look, a knee, a ring – and suddenly everything is different. So that this moment feels exactly the way you imagine it, we take our time for your engagement ring in Dresden. In our ring atelier in the Villa Waldeck in Dresden-Blasewitz we advise you calmly, discreetly and by appointment only – whether you come alone, with someone you trust or already as a couple.
Solitaire, halo or eternity – which ring suits her?
The solitaire is the classic: a single diamond, clearly set, timeless and quietly elegant. If you like a little more glamour, choose a halo ring, where a circle of fine brilliants makes the centre stone shine even brighter. An eternity ring carries its stones all the way around – a declaration of love that sparkles in every light. And for those looking for something special: toi et moi, two stones for two people. Not sure yet? Tell us about her style, her jewellery, her everyday life. That almost always leads to a clear feeling.
Natural or lab-grown diamonds
With us you will find both. Natural diamonds have grown in the earth over millions of years and carry exactly that story within them. Lab-grown diamonds are optically, chemically and physically identical – a conscious, sustainable choice that often lets a larger stone fit your budget. Every engagement ring comes with a certificate of authenticity and purity. Learn more about carat, colour, clarity and cut on our page about diamonds in Dresden.
Gold, platinum & a ring that matches the wedding band
Yellow gold feels warm and classic, white gold and platinum clear and modern, rose gold romantic and delicate. Think one step ahead: engagement ring and wedding band are often worn together. We make sure both will sit perfectly side by side later – and are happy to design your wedding rings to match.
The right ring size – completely unnoticed
Want the proposal to stay a surprise? Secretly borrow a ring she wears on her ring finger and bring it along – we will measure the size for you. No suitable ring at hand? With many designs the size can still be adjusted after the proposal. Just ask us.
How your ring consultation works
Book a ring consultation online, Monday to Saturday. Over a drink we show you settings, stones and materials and find out together what suits her. If you wish, we design your ring individually. It is then made for you and arrives in an illuminated ring box – ready for the big moment. The consultation is free and without obligation. Book your ring consultation here.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ENGAGEMENT RINGS
How much should an engagement ring cost?
There is no fixed rule. What matters is that the ring feels right for you. Because setting, material and stone can be freely combined, we find a ring in the consultation that fits your budget.
How long does it take until the engagement ring is ready?
Best plan a few weeks, as your ring is made especially for you. Already have a date for the proposal? Let us know and we will plan backwards.
On which hand is the engagement ring worn?
In Germany usually on the left hand. After the wedding it often moves to the wedding band on the right hand – or stays on the left. Both are beautiful.
Can I come to the consultation on my own?
Of course. Most people come alone or with someone they trust. We treat your visit with absolute discretion.
Do you also offer wedding rings?
Yes. With us you will find handcrafted wedding rings by Rauschmayer – happily matched to your engagement ring. More answers in our FAQ.
